I have eaten at some of the best Indian restaurants and curry houses in my home country in the UK and in the best of the best cities (London, Manchester, and Birmingham). So it is with a level of earned authority I tell you that Bukhara in Cape Town is tops. Went for a business lunch and was blown away by the flavours, ingredients, presentation, and volume. Ordered mixed starters and each were stellar. Just about managed to eat mains because the starters were so big (warning - don't over-order!), and only managed to do so because it was so delicious: hunks of lamb cooked in rich spicy sauce where one can recognise all spices used. When back in the city will be coming back. Loved it.read less
Good food Five people all shared vegetarian dishes from the menu. Very good. Not outstanding. Nice place. Good service.

The level of spicy needs to be specified as I like my food hot spicy and sometimes its just mild, likely the level desired by other customers.read less

Chose a table with a view over the waterfront. Plenty of choice on the starter and main course menu and me and my friend mixed and matched on both. Service was good. The napkins were like bibs which is an asset for us messy eaters. The only downside was that CT is quite cold at this time of year and we had a nasty draft near a door where an irritating family with a bawling kid insisted in going in and out of every 2 minutes. When we asked the waiter to close the door, which he did happily, the parent rattled the door for a couple of minutes to be let back in. Maybe the door can be closed at this time if yearread less

The food was tasty - the hot dishes appropriately hot and the less hot dishes survivable for those who don't enjoy the heat as much! We ordered a naan bread each and a rice to go with our curry - but one naan bread to share between each couple would have been plenty. The portions were generous.
Not a fault of the restaurant - but parking in this area is difficult and not the most salubrious. I'd definitely recommend using a taxi or uber.read less
